Quick Synopsis:

Mahiro is a regular kid that lives his days in peace... until.. that night..! The one where Mahiro suddenly gets attacked by what seems to be a demon-like creature. He cries for help and in answer for his pleas directly from H.P Lovecraft' C'tulhu Mythos comes (or possibly not!) Nyarlathotep, the crawling chaos comes for his aid!
After gruesomely obliterating the demon whilst smiling like a sadic cute little girl that she is, she turns to Mahiro only to find out that he passed out then carries him home!

Nyaruko is a perverted, sadistic, energetic, violent,masochistic,random,pushy and to boot extremely cute and adorable little girl. Believe me.. SHE IS! That is not a bad thing though!

The show itself has a plethora of C'tulhu Mythos referencing but since i am not knowledgeable about those i can't really point out them. That being said, not knowing the mythos won't change anything per se, the show is just HILARIOUS Nyaruko is just unbearably cute and energetic, it just keeps going and going without stop, confessions right off the bat, making mince-meat out of demons, being more pushy than any female protagonist i have ever seen, going on about how Earth's entertainment is just too damn good... Wow.
